One More Year
July should not pass without an update from me. I miss you, journal. Now on to my story.
I was back in Singapore since last week and everything's the same. I'm still occupying the same room, hanging out with the same group of people, eating at the same canteen. Nothing's changed. Except that this is my last year in school before I
1) don a toga 2) pose beside significant landmarks in school for a souvenir 3) graduate.
Wee!
Oh, and my injured foot's not back to normal yet. It's slowly getting there and I could tell it was pressured to recover faster the moment the plane landed in Changi Airport. You just can't survive Singapore without the ability to walk long distances.
First week of school's over and like any other first week of school, I barely have any schoolwork to attend to, except reading. I like my final year timetable, what with only 5 subjects and lots of "free" time. And by "free" time, I meant project time. I'm not complaining, though. Not yet.
It's getting cold in the library so I'd better end this with a funny incident that happened recently. One night, after our usual talk somewhere in my hall overlooking the road, Donny and I decided to take a walk around. As he hasn't seen the second level of my hall, we went up to the reading room, where we saw two doors, one to our left and one to our right. Since we have nothing better to do, we decided to explore said doors and saw behind them staircases, leading to, we assume, an exit. So we tried the left door. As the door closed behind us, we then descended the stairs to face another door marked EXIT. I pushed the door open and it won't. Oh, I thought, so this wasn't an exit after all. We'll just have to go back up and go out by the reading room. So we went back up and turned the knob of the door to the reading room. But it won't...turn! AAAaaahhh!!! We were trapped! It was insane. While I was panicking, we explored our options. There was a window below where you can see the security guard's table so I suggested we wait for the security guard to show up. Several moments later, we felt it would take forever before the security guards shows up so I suggested calling someone. A sleepy cornchild answered my distress call and just as he was reaching for the door, Donny gave the door a good shove, then a big push before it opened. The door was unlocked, THE WHOLE TIME. I panicked for nothing. And woke up cornchild just to laugh at our silly misadventure.
Nothing like an embarrassing moment to start the school year.
