Gloomy (and not Manic) Monday

Oh my God, I hate having written a fairly long entry only to be deleted because of a mouse malfunction. Argh! It's pointless to remember what I just wrote because I know I will remember things entirely different from what I intended to remember. My, even that sentence is pointless. Argh! Hate mouse malfunction.

ANYWAY...

What I think I wrote was ...

Today's weather is gloomy. So gloomy in fact, I want to write. You follow?

When I woke up this morning to fill my thermos bottle with hot water for my Blackcurrant and Cranberries tea, the sun was still up. I could feel it warming my skin, giving a welcome contrast against the cool weather. What an indulgence! So was breakfast. I had tea and D24 durian mooncake and oh my gosh, have you ever had a D24 durian mooncake? Never mind the android-sounding name (D24), so long as they make the best durian mooncake, I'm a fan. Their mooncake is sticky so you can be rest assured that it's packed with a lot of durian goodness. Yum! Note to durian lovers: You cannot pass it up this mooncake season.

But back to my original thought. Outside is gloomy. Inside the library is no better. I went to school early just so I could print new sets of lecture notes only to find out that I missed printing one chapter (lecture 2, specifically), so I had to print and queue, only to find out that the queue had gotten impossibly longer (I mean, that fast?) while I was away printing. So I retreated and decided to update while I wait for the queue to shorten. Well, as with most of the queues out there, it didn't. Then I found out that the printing shop is selling the notes for only $3.45! Never mind the 50 or so pages I printed, I bought the notes. I'm impatient, that I am. (I am influenced by Samurai X, ack! That I am...okay, stop.)

But that does not relate to the gloomy weather either. What I so want to do right now is curl up in bed with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate. But I can't. Of course I can't. Sigh. Recess week has just passed and that would only mean that exam period is near enough not to be brushed aside. So here I am, still writing. What twisted logic, hee.

I've been doing my work. The semester is half done but the work is not. I have a presentation this week, an assignment due in about a month, and another assignment due, um, well, I didn't take note of it. And to top it off, I have my final year project to stress me out for a year. Woo!

In other news, I saw Hark this morning. Quite a surprise since I thought he's not staying in Singapore anymore. We couldn't chat for long but it was nice seeing him (our kuya/pseudo-father) again. Oh, and we were both wearing orange tees, haha!

On second thought, maybe this day isn't so gloomy after all.

ADDENDUM: I got the brand of the durian mooncake wrong and figured that since I'm raving about it and all, I should make a correction. The brand is Prima Deli, not D24. As Donny had explained to me, D24 stands for the best grade of durian durian mooncake makers use for their durian mooncakes ... and I just made a tongue twister. But seriously, the brand is Prima Deli and I should remind them to put their logo on the individually packed mooncakes and not just a sticker that says D24 durian. Poor ignorant souls like me would mistake it as the brand name and will be devastated if we come looking for it in stores only to find out that there are so many D24 durian mooncakes to choose from. Anyway, we did learn something new today, huh?
