It's A Beautiful Day

So today, I went for a run? And boy, was I NOT physically fit!

I woke up at 6:30 am (because my body clock's already used to waking up earlier than that) and after watching every watchable Jussy sent last night, I decided to go for a run.

It was a beautiful morning -- a little bit cloudy so it doesn't feel like an oven outside, the birds are chirping, it's misty everywhere -- you simply cannot resist Nature. So ok, at 8:30 in the morning, I put on my jogging pants and noticed that I have really lost weight these past few weeks as my thighs didn't look like they're going to burst through the fabric, a la Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde Metamorphosis. I took the Road Less Travelled (RLT) Route, which was basically uphill and now you're asking what was I thinking taking that route when I haven't jogged for like a year. Which is a good question because 10 minutes into the run, I was huffing and puffing, I could be a perfect candidate for the Hufflepuffs. Not. Good.

Well, in fairness, I haven't been doing a lot of strenuous activities lately. Why? Because I don't like them. My muscles get to have some serious workout only when I play sports, or go for a jog. Now those are fun. My run today? Just for fun. Because I have nothing better to do and I miss the view (meaning trees, grass, and more trees) when you pass by the RLT. And running is a good way to clear your head of anything that's negative and stressful. Not saying I'm stressed though. In fact, I'm far from being stressed. What, I have no exams! And, I'm almost done with my report! I'm going to get my paycheck soon! And a friend of mine brought back food for me from Indonesia!

Ok, details. One of my choir mates went back to Indonesia and I didn't know how I did it, but I managed to ask him to bring back those little biscuit-like snacks they call nopia. I had tried those goodies before (of course, courtesy of one of my Indonesian friends) and I fell in love. With the food. Shaped like little balls, the biscuit-like crust is brittle, which is in contrast to the chewy, sweet filling. They're like mini tau sa biscuits, but sweeter and not at all salty. My kind of stuff exactly! So he brought me two flavors: gula merah (brown sugar) and chocolate. And! In two sizes! The small ones (the ones that I've tried before) and some big ones! It cheered me up big time I almost gave him a hug. Hee. Because food has that effect on me.

Actually, it made the whole of my November. I had so many things to write but I just wasn't in the mood. Until yesterday. Yay, nopia! My goal for todaythis weekend is to finish my script. And write letters for my friends back home. I will be productive. I will write what I have to write and until then, I won't be updating often. Unless you bring me some more nopias.
