Home Alone
For the past couple of weeks, I've been food shopping at Carrefour at least twice in one week. During my birthday week, I was there everyday except Saturday. Please don't make me think that's unusual.
You see, I only need to take a 5-minute MRT trip to reach Carrefour. So as a foodie, it was hard to resist its come-hither doors which open at around 10 am and do not close until 12 hours later. That baby need no pimping (which is NOT what I'm trying to do. Never!)
This week I am well into my stay-at-home routine, which is as follows:
7:30 am - Wake up without alarm clock. Hot. Sun shining. Remove blanket. Back to bed.
8:25 am - Get out of bed. Pee. Prepare breakfast. This week: peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a hot cup of Ghirardelli Double Chocolate. Watch news while eating and read a novel of choice whenever something boring comes up.
9:00 am - Turn off tv. Wash the dishes. Take a bath. Go to bedroom/read a novel/do laundry/surf internet.
11:00 am - Watch tv while thinking what to cook for lunch. Work appetite by watching the show Backyard Cooking. Take notes if a recipe is interesting and doable.
11:20 am - Turn off tv to cook lunch.
12:00 noon - Once finished cooking, go back to living room and watch a design show. Wash dishes and clean kitchen after eating. Desirable to finish before 1 pm.
1:00 pm - Surreal Gourmet is on. Take notes if a recipe is interesting and doable.
Until 3:00 pm - Watch if movie is interesting.
4:00 pm - Watch Debbie Travis Facelift show. I am hooked.
After 4:00 pm - Watch some more if there is something interesting, otherwise turn off tv and start thinking about what to cook for dinner. Start taking out meat in the fridge to thaw if cooking frozen meat.
5:30 pm - Cook dinner.
6:00 pm - Eat dinner in living room to watch tv. After eating, wash the dishes, clean the kitchen, as with lunch.
7:00 pm - Take a bath. Watch more tv after bath or check e-mails/finish novel/attend to urgent matters.
Before I know it, it's 11pm and I'm still glued to the tv. I never thought I watched too much tv until I wrote this down. Wow. I'm worried about my brain cells. But I run on the weekends so that should be enough compromise. I think.
And take note that it's a ROUTINE. Meaning, this is my daily schedule unless I go out to shop for groceries or to meet Donny or friends or go to church. But I am settled with this routine. I'm not bored. YET.
I have cooked a variety of dishes. Some I cooked for the first time and with pretty good results. I'll write about it next time. It's time for me to cook dinner. I'm thinking of pasta with crispy chicken and some lettuce and carrots salad.
Oh, and I'm about to start work maybe next week or the week after that. Have to plan my last crazy adventure, don't you think?
