Crammer vs Crammer (But there's a butt story in the end)

Hi, I just lost my momentum in writing. I've hit a wall ( hit a wall - an expression used by runners when they suddenly stop after running and could not pick up the pace right after that). I can't start a paragraph without getting myself bored. It used to be easy, updating.

Anyway, school break is not really a break. I've been doing my experiment for the past two days and hopefully good things will come out of it. I have to finish a big chunk of my project before school starts again this January or I'll be in trouble. I'll be panicky and I won't get anything done because most of my brain power will go into panicking instead of solving problems.

Aside from school stuff, another thing that's keeping me busy is my church choir. We will be performing a medley of Christmas songs next week and we have not yet pieced the whole thing together. That's the scary part. I've got two things to cram, and I'm supposed to be on a holiday.

Wait. I shouldn't embrace that thought or I'll be slacking away and end up wasting my life. Yes, that's scary. I am down to one semester in school so anything I do is critical. One mistake and it could change everything. I want to graduate on time. The pressure is killing me.

In high school, I almost didn't graduate because I couldn't finish my research paper on time. I don't want that to happen again. Even though I am doing my best to finish on time, and I think I'm not yet in major trouble or anything, my high school research experience still haunts me at times. It could be traumatic you know, almost not graduating.

Okay, scary thoughts aside, I've watched several movies recently.

1. The Incredibles - You cannot compare this movie to Shark Tale, ok? You just can't. Why? It's more awesome than Shark Tale, that's why. And I don't know why it irritates me whenever I hear someone says Shark Tale is better than The Incredibles. I mean, huh? Seriously? I almost fell asleep in the first part of Shark Tale. Okay, I should be talking about The Incredibles. Great story (something Pixar is good at), with funny characters, action-packed, at the same time heartwarming. I enjoyed every bit of it. Oh, and I love Jack Jack, with his Alfalfa-like pointy hair, hee! He's my favorite Incredible.

2. Before Sunset - I never thought I would enjoy a movie with only two people talking, walking and basically, talking, nothing else. Before Sunset succeeded in drawing me into the conversation of the two central characters. It's so well-written that I never got bored listening to every word. Every word. I love this movie. It's one of those movies that leaves you affected for the rest of the week. I am planning to do a marathon of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset before the break ends. Mmm, nachos.

3. National Treasure - Mmm, if I haven't read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, I would've enjoyed this movie more. The plot is full of intricate missions that I love, it's like watching Alias and CSI combined.

4. Shutter - This is a Thai horror film. I wouldn't have gone for this if Donny had not suggested it. Umm, it's scary. And now I'm thinking it's a bad idea remembering I watched this movie because it's all coming back to me. The scary bits in the movie, exactly the things I shouldn't be remembering now because I'll be going to bed real soon. So I'll just wrap it up and say that it's creepy, and will haunt you for days. TWo days after the movie, I was running around campus at night and when I passed by this stretch of trees and darkness, the thought of the creepy ghost just came to mind and I ran faster, didn't stop until I hit the main road with bright lights.

In other news, Donny turned 23 last December 4. And because I was broke, I wasn't able to treat him with fancy things but he's cool about it. I cooked Spaghetti. Now, not to brag or anything but Spaghetti is my specialty. The recipe I used for Donny's birthday was the most delicious so far. And the best thing? He loves it. Yay!

Before I brought out the dessert, I gave him his cards and gifts. And then I played him a song with my guitar. Thanks to Before Sunset. I didn't have much practice and I'm not that great a guitar player either but he gets the message of the song. It felt really wonderful singing to him, to see him smiling, looking at me with a sparkle in his eyes. That same day, we were also celebrating our 9 months together so I figured what better song to play than Shania's "You're Still The One"? After that song, he wanted more. I didn't practice any other song except for Alanis Morisette's "Head Over Feet" and it's harder to play. So I just played half of the song and this time he was looking at my fingers trying to form the chords. Hee. Then he asked me to play "Now and Forever" by Richard Marx. Oookay, way too hard for me to play. So he sang to me a capella. Nice. I've always imagined myself to be with someone who loves to sing and has a great voice to go with it. I am so thankful Donny fulfills both criteria.

After a little bit of dancing, we finally decided we are ready for dessert. I took out two stemmed glasses with strawberry cheesecake in it, topped it with some whipped cream and a strawberry each. Making this one was a challenge. But it still turned out okay. I just have to soak the sliced strawberries in sugar or currant jelly for a longer period of time. And buy a mixer. And ease up on the lemon juice. That's all. Donny managed to finish it, so I'm happy. Stemmed glasses are really something.

I'm glad I made him happy that day. He deserves it.

Nine months and we're doing great. Love being in love.

Oh, funny story. Donny just completed a full marathon (42 km) in 4 hours. That's so cool! And fast. He's just unbelievable. He told me that after the run, they get a free massage in this tent. So he went to this girl and got his massage. It was okay, he said. (It'd better be just okay.) After some time, the girl asked whether she could massage his butt. Donny was all, yeah-huh! You should massage my butt, why the need to ask, he thought. So he said yes. The girl proceeded to knead his butt cheeks and he told me, it felt kind of nice. Then the supervisor approached the girl saying, "No, that's wrong." He told her to apply pressure using the tips of her fingers. And it was nice, too, that he dozed off for a while. Anyway, the girl did as she was told. After several minutes, about half an hour, 25 minutes longer than most people, if I'm not mistaken, he finally got out of the tent and met his friends.

Donny: Hey, how come you're here already?
Friend: That girl lah. I don't like the massage.
Donny: Did you get a butt massage?
Friend: Uhh ... no?
Donny: Huh?!?
Friend: Shit, the girl likes you.

Then he asked his other friends if they were asked by the girls if they could give them a butt massage. They all said no. Apparently, he's the only one. Hee!

You go, butt!

Last update: I just moved to another hall. My arms and legs are still aching but the view from my room? All worth it. It's more windy and did I mention the view? Trees and green, white birds, I feel like singing "What A Wonderful World".
